My show is on alternating Thursdays from 6-8 pm. I’ll be playing 70’s and 80’s disco, funk, and boogie mostly from East Asia, the SWANA region, and Africa.
Here’s a playlist of some of my favorite songs in and outside those genres. These women are from all over the globe. Going down the playlist: Hong Kong, Lebanon, Russia, Hong Kong, Togo, Ethiopia, Taiwan, Guadeloupe, South Africa, Senegal, and India. I love hearing all these songs together—the artists’ beautiful and distinct voices in different languages. To me, their songs are a powerhouse combo of moody, dancey, heartwarming…a verdant rose garden of music.
