The Gold Standard has always been devoted to jazz from the middle to later part of the 20th century - with a focus on rare and vintage vinyl. I exclusively use recordings from my personal collection of nearly 3000 jazz LPs, 300 jazz CDs, and extensive digital music library. An essential part of The Gold Standard is that I include historical information on each recording, as well as anecdotes and stories. I also sometimes include actualities intermixed with the jazz - for example classic stand-up comedy, Ken Nordine, and other oddities.
