How can I donate? Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, donations are tax deductible. Our station has 501(c)(3) status, which means the IRS classifies us as a charitable organization. Freeform Portland gratefully accepts donations through PayPal or by check. We also love donations of records, CDs and headphones in good and working condition. Our station runs on support from our friends and neighbors and we are grateful for any and all contributions! Please visit our Donate page for more information.

What’s the Frequency, Kenneth? How old is the station?

Freeform Portland went on the air at 90.3 FM in north Portland in April 2016. Our full call sign is KFFP-LP 90.3 FM. (The “LP” stands for “low power.”)

Where can I get the best signal for Freeform Portland?

Our transmitter is located in the NE Alberta neighborhood in Portland, OR. We’re a low-power FM station, which means our range has an approximate 5-mile radius. Your reception will vary depending on your equipment, distance from the transmitter, and the height of the buildings in between. We also stream online at www.freeformportland.org/listen.

Can I have a show?

THE DJ APPLICATION FORM CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://www.freeformportland.org/apply

Deadline to apply for our next programming cycle is 11:59 pm PST on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Prospective DJs will be contacted in March and radio shows will start Sunday, April 1st. The schedule will run through the month of September.

IF YOU ARE A CURRENT VOLUNTEER: Before you fill out the DJ application form, make sure that your volunteer hours are up to date before the application deadline! You can update and check your volunteer hours by logging into Admin. If you are a current Freeform Portland volunteer and do not yet have an Admin user account, please contact editor@freeformportland.org.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO FREEFORM: Welcome! In addition to applying for a show, please visit www.freeformportland.org/about/volunteer to learn more about the station and about how to get more involved! DJ’s are expected to volunteer, on average, at least 5 hours a month to keep their show. You do not need to be a current volunteer or DJ to apply, but it may limit the time slots available to you.

DJs are expected to be at the studio for their shows. This includes showing up 15 minutes early every week (or every other week, if you have an alternating time slot).

If you are signing up for a show with a partner, apply together using the “Co-DJ” fields.

If you have any questions about the DJ application form or DJing at Freeform Portland, contact programming@freeformportland.org

What about volunteer opportunities? How can I help?

Yes, we have many volunteer opportunities. To find out more, please fill out our KFFP Volunteer Contact Form or contact volunteer@freeformportland.org.
